    Itinerary

    Day 01 : Arrive in Chennai

    Welcomed at airport and transferred to hotel.

    Afternoon, visit Kapaleeswarar Temple, the most important temple in Chennai. The temple is dedicated to Shiva. Then visit Sri Parthasarathy Temple near Marina Beach; Lord Krishna is worshipped here as Parthasarthy or the charioteer of Arjuna. End the tour after the visit to Ashtalakshmi Temple dedicated to goddess Lakshm, who blesses with eight forms of wealth – offspring, success, prosperity, wealth, courage, bravery, food, and knowledge. .

    Day 02 : Chennai – Tirupathi
    Proceed to Thirupathi in the morning. Visit the holy hill of Tirumala and pay reverence to Lord Venkateswara here. It is one of the most visited pilgrimage centers. It is believed that Venkateswara, an avatar of Visnu has the power of fulfilling any wish made before him. Many devotees donate their hair to the deity in gratitude for the wish fulfilled. Overnight in the hotel.
    Day 03 : Tirupati – Kanchippuram
    Proceed to Kanchipuram, the Golden City of Thousand Temples on the banks of the Palar River.
    It is one of the seven sacred must visit cities for Hindus. Visit Kailashanathar Temple dedicated to Shiva, then Ekambareswara Temple. This Shiva temple is associated with one of the five elements (earth). Continue your tour to Kamakshi Amman Temple dedicated to Parvati – most important place of shakti (female energy); Varadaraja Perumal and Vaikunta Perumal are other two temples of greater importance. Overnight in the hotel.
    Day 04 : Kanchipuram – Thanjavur
    Proceed to Thanjavur; en-route stop to visit the 9th century Arunachaleswar Temple (timing: 5am-1230pm & 3:30-9:30pm) and Arunachal hill in Thiruvannamalai. Continue to Chidambaram and visit the great temple complex of Nataraja, Shiva the great Dancer of the Universe. Chidambaram is one of the holiest of all Shiva sites to followers of Shiva. Visit the Nataraja Temple erected during Chola period. Continue to Tanjore and check into Thanjavur and check into hotel.
    Day 05 : Thanjavur – Rameswaram
    Start your day with the visit to Brihadishwara Temple (timing: 6am-8pm), one of the World Heritage Monument. Return to hotel for check out and then proceed to Rameswaram and check into the hotel.

    Day 06 : Rameswaram – Madurai
    Visit Ramanathasway Temple (timing: 5am–9:30pm). It is believed, Rama worshipped Shiva here, after his victory over Ravana. Check out from the hotel and then tour Dhanushkodi and proceed to Madurai. Afternoon, visit Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple (timing: 4am-12:30pm & 4-9:30pm) dedicated to Shiva and his consort Parvati. Witness the “Palli Arai” ceremony in the temple @ 9pm
    Day 07 : Madurai – Trichy (Tiruchirappalli)
    Return to Sri Meenakshi Temple if you are inclined. Check out from the hotel and proceed on the drive to Trichy and check into hotel. Visit Srirangam about 7Kms from Trichy for Sri Ranganatha swamy Temple. This is one of the most important Vaishnavite pilgrimage centers. Then visit Samayapuram Mariamman Koil, a form of Durga or Maha Kali or Aadi Shakti. Continue to visit Tiruvanakovil or Sri Jambukeshawara Temple dedicated to Shiva and Parvati. The temple is mostly submerged by water and hence it represents one of the five elements – water. Also visit the Rock Fort Ganapati Temple.
    Day 08 : Trichy – Chennai - Onward journey

    Breakfast in the hotel and proceed to Chennai airport, en-route visit Mahabalipuram, a major seaport of the ancient Pallava kingdom. Visit the Shore Temple, Five Rathas, Arjuna’s Penance and the Mamallapuram Hill. Your vehicle remains with you until you are dropped off at airport to commence onward journey.
